CHOOSE THE TYPE OF LOW-E COATED GLASS ACCORDING TO YOUR NEEDS:

When the weather turns frigid, Cardinal Low-e 180 glass is the perfect cold remedy. It keeps homes warmer and more comfortable in the winter by blocking heat loss to the outside and letting the sun’s heat stream in. These features make Low-e 180 the ideal product for our Canadian climate, especially in Northern regions

Cardinal Low-e²-272 is by far our most popular all-purpose glass. At a very reasonable price, Low-e²-272 glass delivers year-round comfort in all types of weather. In winter, it reflects heat back into the room. In summer, it rejects the sun’s heat and damaging UV rays.

Cardinal Low-e³-366 is the ultimate performance glass. Low-e³-366 has all of the characteristics of Low-e 272, but with a much greater degree of solar control (blockage of the sun’s damaging UV and heat radiation). Very high levels of summer and winter comfort are achieved while still retaining high visibility.

Cardinal Low-e-i89 provides the performance of triple-glazed low-e, in a lighter-weight double glazed unit! Low-e i89, when used together with Low-e 366 provides the homeowner with the best insulating glass that money can buy. Maximum resistance to heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer adds up to comfort levels and energy savings never before experienced!

Useful Add-Ons for insulating glass Units:

TEMPERED SAFETY GLASS

Tempered glass has a high impact resistance to breakage. This is an excellent choice for glass which is either located close to floor level, or mounted into doors. Most importantly, tempered glass is safe for children. If broken, the glass instantly reduces to a shower of thousands of safe, tiny pieces, without the presence of any large shards.

TRIPLE-LAYER INSULATING GLASS

This is the ultimate insulator. The extra layer of glass and air-space provides an added blanket of protection from the cold. It insulates so well, that it is specified for use in freezer displays in supermarkets where a clear, no-fog view is desired.
Triple glass is also used for sound-proofing, and is often specified by architects for windows facing noisy streets and highways.

LAMINATED SAFETY GLASS

Laminated glass is similar to that used on windshields, having a very high resistance to destruction by impact. If it is caused to break, it will only crack, and not fall apart. This is achieved by chemically fusing two layers of glass with a clear, vinyl-like, film. Laminated glass, when used for windows and doors, is ideal for high security against break-ins. It is also used extensively for sound control thermal insulation and safe skylights.

ACID ETCHED PRIVACY GLASS

Today’s number one choice for obscure or frosted glass. Ultra modern design gives 100% privacy, while allowing most of the light to pass through. Used most commonly on our interior and exterior doors, as well as bathroom windows. The surface texture is very smooth and fine, and will not smudge.
Many other textured and obscure glass designs are available for our insulating glass, windows, and doors. Visit our showroom to view exact samples.

INFORMATION TO ORDER INSULATING GLASS

IT’S as EASY as 1-2-3!
To place an order or obtain a quote, we need to know:

1. Exact size of glass in width and length. Be sure to size the glass at least ¼” smaller than the exact tight opening to allow for fitting and expansion.

2. Exact overall thickness of the unit, inside to outside. Insulating glass units are made in increments of 1/16″, from 1/2″ to 1 1/4″ (dependent on the combination of air-space thickness and glass thickness). This is especially important when replacing glass into vinyl windows, as the thickness accuracy is critical for proper fit.

3. Type of glass and options.  We are very happy to give advice as to the best glass options  and thickness according your requirements.
